I know many of you may find this difficult to believe but apparently people like free stuff. Who knew right? Anyway, in order to please the masses and offer something back to the community, Ben Bunker from NevadaGunTrustAttorney.com , in participation with GlockVector Industries, has booked Larry Vickers for a 3 day carbine training course October 19-21, 2012 in Las Vegas, NV. There are 15 spots in the class and Ben is giving them all away. EDIT: I’ve had way too many people ask me how much the class spots are selling for. YOU CAN NOT BUY INTO THIS CLASS!

So what’s better than a free 3 day carbine class with Larry Vickers? Well, how about a free BCM AR-15 lightweight carbine? Yep, you read that right. Thanks to Mr. Bunker, 702shooter.com is also giving away a slot in the class and we have a rifle to go along with it!

Of course, a rifle and training are useless without ammo so how about 1000 rounds of PMC 223A as well? I know, all this free stuff can make for quite the burden so I’m sure we won’t get very many people entering this drawing.
This unfired Bravo Company AR has been upgraded a bit too. For starters, the 14.5″ chrome lined barrel now has a BattleComp compensator welded on so the winner does not need to worry about registering it as an SBR. The front sight post has been cut down to make way for the new 11″ Troy Industries TRX BattleRail. Magpul’s MBUIS were added along with a new MOE Stock and MOE+ grip. 3 PMAGs with Ranger Plates will also go with the package. The trigger pin was loose so some KNS Non-Rotating hammer and trigger pins were added to the mix. The bolt, carrier, and hammer have all been Nickle Boron coated by WMD Guns.

As I was checking it out, I noticed that the trigger was the weak link in the rifle . It had a lot of creep and was not all that smooth. Lucky for you guys, Jim West of Wild West Guns noticed this too and offered to rework the trigger to make it more respectable. Jim also offered to do some work on the barrel which consists of cleaning up the weld and re-parkerizing the entire barrel and compensator.

So what’s the catch? Well, there are a couple of them. First off, obviously you need to be at least 18 years old and able to legally purchase a firearm in the United States. The package will be given away at the training class and you must be present at the class to claim the rifle and ammo. If you are entering this drawing and live out of state, after the class, the rifle will be transferred to your local FFL where you will be responsible for any transfer and background check fees. See below for special exceptions that are necessary for CA, MA, NY, & CT. Once again, this class is October 19-21, 2012. We will be selecting the winner about 3 weeks before the class in order to allow transportation arrangements to be made by the winner, in case they live out of state. If you are the winner and you are not able to make it to the class, you will forfeit all prizes and a new winner will be selected.

This AR would have a wonderfully caring home with the other firearms in my gun safe. I don’t understand why more people are not entering this with better comments. This is a great giveaway the least people could do is make an attempt on comments that are more than a sentence long. I can only imagine all the work that goes into putting giveaways like this together, job well done!!! I would travel terrible distances in the prone position to obtain this giveaway. Good thing I live here in Vegas with weekends off ready for some great AR training with that remarkable rifle.

This is a most awesome giveaway. All the work done to the BCM AR-15 will save quite a bit of later investment as this would probably be something I would do. The 3 day carbine class with Larry Vickers and 1000 rounds of PMC 223A is just icing on the cake. I have been researching AR-15s in the process of purchasing one, winning this would quickly add to my collection of guns. Winning somthing like this would make one tempted to move to Las Vegas as I am from California. I just purchased a Desert Eagle 44 Mag, this AR-15 would round out the fun.

As a former Range Officer and Board member of our gun club here in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, I’ve been able to shoot a variety of arms: rifles, shotguns, and hanguns; mostly sporting– once a .50 BMG, that was a fun day. That was prior to the growth in popularity of the AR-style of modern rifles.
Winning a customized AR with 3 days of top-level instruction in its tactical use would be an amazing experience coupled with a lifetime of appreciation and delight whenever using it.

Anyone else here from California? I think the biggest “problem” I would have if I win is getting to shoot the rifle WITHOUT a bullet button and with 30rd mags! I think I would be spoiled after a 3 day class and would have to move out to NV permanently just so I won’t have to convert it to CA legal configuration!!! Good luck everyone.

So my girlfriend just found out about this giveaway. She’s jealous and it’s a VERY good thing this is taking place the weekend after her birthday…whew. I’ve been going through the comments and was wondering if anyone knew what specific trigger work Jim West did on the gun besides get rid the creep and smooth it out (replace springs, etc)…and I’m also curious how much of the $420 bill was for the trigger? I’ve been considering getting a Giselle single stage trigger on my current AR but I’d prefer to leave the current trigger there and simply have some work done to it to fix some of it’s short comings. Granted I’m only shooting with irons right now but am accurate out to 200yrds and would like to have a better platform when I put a scope on.

The last time I left the desert, I went to Vegas for three days and promised myself to never spend more than ten minutes outside in Nevada. The class & giveaway look awesome. By my estimation, it would take approximately two rounds down range in Mr. Vickers’ presence for me to bring myself to break my promise.
Outside in NV is not so harsh in October. In fact, the winner should consider bringing a light jacket or windbreaker.

In order to claim the prize you have to complete the 3 day carbine course with Larry Vickers. Based on your comment, I’m wondering how that would be possible considering the physical limitations you’ve just mentioned?
It definitely brings up something else for us to consider on this and future gun giveaways as we will not be giving any firearms away without the winner proving competence with the firearm by completing these classes.

I doubt it would be a gun giveaway (although that would be sick)…but if you look at their site they have a bunch of tactical stuff, so I would bet that they would provide some equipment to the winner that they could use in the class.
I should update the page about GVI. They are sponsoring the event in a couple of ways but they will not be providing anything additional for this giveaway. However, they have given me one of their new PV17′s and there will be an upcoming announcement on how people may enter to win it.

I just finished a two day Urban Rifle class. It was all about AR15′s. I had never shot or handled an AR15 before the class. The one I borrowed belonged to the instructor and it was her baby. It was all tricked out and it was sweet! (Like yours it was extremely light weight.) Wow, I had fun! Since then I’ve been shopping for an AR15 in a large enough caliber to go deer hunting and for self-defense. I look forward to hearing from you in the fall and having an excuse to fly out to take your class. A big thank you to all your sponsors!

Awesome rifle and I need classes.
I have and love the Vickers sling on my current AR. Makes all of the other slings I have used in the past seem obsolete…granted I have never tried using a single point. Its nice to have the ability to adjust it with the strap and be able to transition fairly easily side to side while its still slung over your shoulder. I’ve only used it a couple times so looking forward to getting some instruction in the class on proper techniques.

This is exciting. My only rifle was designed more than 100 years ago. Much as I like it I would love for it to share space in the safe with a modern sporting rifle, and this looks like a beautiful piece. My unadorned Winchester Model 93 would make a great “odd couple” complement to this decked-out and loaded modern semi-auto rifle.
I have saw alot of AR rifles, and there are a zillion of them but i saw this one at the gun show in Las Vegas on Saturday and it is awesome,would love it.
I had the chance to hold this sick AR again so I thought I would post a comment about it. I still can’t get over how lightweight it is, light enough to carry and run hard all day. This gun stuck out like a sore thumb amongst all of the other AR’s at the gun show, none even came close to how sleek this rifle is. I’m so stoked for October to come around to see if my wish comes true, and win this badass rifle!!! It was also nice to meet Ben Bunker and 702 again at the Gun show yesterday. 702 – Another question about the class. I’ve been researching some other classes in my area (thanks again for the suggestion) and even most of the Lv1 classes require you to have additional equipment (mag pouches, etc) and incorporate sidearm training/transitions in the class. Are there any additional requirements for that equipment beyond what’s stated above…and any chance of getting to work with a sidearm as well?
Some details are still being worked out but it’s VERY likely that some pistol instruction will also be given.
LAV said he’d do some pistol transition work in this class, so bringing a pistol and some ammo (100-200 rds) would be a good idea. It is still primarily a carbine class. As far as gear, bring something that will hold some magazines on your body and whatever else you typically train with.
Awesome…will do. Aside from just going to the range I haven’t done any “training” so this would be my first experience. If I don’t get this rifle/class I’ll be looking to get into something else. We don’t have too many spots here in Los Angeles where we can do more than sit/stand at a bench and shoot at paper.

Sorry for the pervious one sentence comment to enter. In the excitement of the moment I registered and entered before I read the rules. As a former member of an USMC helo squadron maintenance dept. all my rifle experience was shooting the standard qualification course over and over. I would love to take advantage of the opportunity for some tacticle instruction. I would gladly take days off work without pay if I had to and drive ALL THE WAY from NW Vegas!
