FAB Defense Mag Well Grip vs. Tactical Mag Well

If you’ve been following along with this site then you may recall that we featured the FAB Defense Mag Well Grip during our coverage of the 2010 Shot Show.  I’ve personally been using these grips for 2 years give or take and although I’m very happy with them, they do have some minor fitting issues which caused me to take a look at the Tactical Mag Well as a possible replacement. After a side by side comparison, I’m sticking with FAB Deffense. IMHO, it just feels more comfortable and looks more appealing. I’d love to see Magpul do a version of this.

Pro
  1. Well built with brass inserts and lock washers.
  2. Fits a variety of lowers with no modifications.
  3. Reduces magazine load times.
  1. Cheaper than the competition.
  2. Textured finger grooves.
  3. Reduces magazine load times.
  4. Better ergonomics
Con
  1. Finish appears to scratch easily.
  2. Unnecessarily bulky.
  3. No texture on finger grooves.
  1. Minor inner modifications needed to fit most lowers.
  2. No metal reinforcements.
