The Gun Store @ 2900 E. Tropicana

We’ve all seen the taxi cabs around town with the signs featuring a picture of a machine gun and “Try one” written on them.  Those are ads for The Gun Store at 2900 E. Tropicana here in Las Vegas.  Clearly their ad campaign is working as this place keeps busy day in and day out.

Although the main attraction here is the gun rental counter and the shooting range, they also have a fully stocked retail store where you can purchase firearms and most of your basic shooting necessities.

The Retail Store

Many visitors to Vegas come from countries where standard citizens are not permitted to own semi-auto firearms.  At The Gun Store, not only can those people shoot semi-autos but they may also take their pick of around 15 different full-auto machine guns.  Not only does this make for a memorable vacation but the staff are camera friendly and will even let you pose for photos with the guns on the range.  You may bring in your own firearms as well; however you must purchase ammunition directly from The Gun Store for use in their ranges.

Beginners and advanced shooters alike will find a comfortable atmosphere along with both male and female range masters.  The $10.00 range fee is waived for all ladies on “Ladies Day Tuesdays.”

Public and Qualifying Ranges

The Gun Store features three different indoor ranges:

The “Public” range has multiple firing lanes and is where most people go to shoot.

The “Qualifying” range is a lot smaller than the public range and is intended for those wanting special instruction and/or shooting qualification for conceal and carry permits.  It is also used for overflow from the public range when things get busy.

The “V.I.P.” range is for those wanted a more private place to chill or maybe entertain guests.  This range has leather seating, complimentary beverages, and they throw in a few gifts for each person too.

The Gun Store also caters to larger groups and can even brand the targets with your company name and logo.  It’s a perfect place to take a group of clients to show a little appreciation and let them experience something they may not otherwise have the opportunity to do.

I took my CCW class there. I was not very impressed by their “tourist trap” attitude…

As seen in your video this place is full of idiots. It’s a tourist trap and nothing more.

I recently purchased a Ruger SR9 at The Gun Store. I got the pistol for $115 less than the suggested retail on the Sturm-Ruger website– so I was happy with the price. The service and salemanship I received in the store were very pleasant and professional. The Gun Store treated me OK….
