RugerKurtHindle 150x266 Ruger SR1911 & SR22 at 2012 Shot ShowLast year Ruger stepped into the 1911 market with the introduction of their SR1911.  This is series 70 pistol is currently offered in stainless steel with a 5″ barrel and Novak LoMount Carry sights.  I’ve seen a few of them in some of the local shops and they do not stick around for long.  Ruger says they have increased production so they should be a little easier to get a hold of them real soon.

Ruger’s attention grabber this year is the SR22 which is going to give the popular Walther P22 a run for it’s money.  The SR22 has comfortable ruberized grips, a picatinny rail, front & rear slide serrations, ambidextrous magazine release and safety/decocking lever.  What it doesn’t have is a  threaded barrel.  Prices seem to be around the $320-$350 range.

Another good showing by Ruger.
Jumping on the 1911 bandwagon, and I don;t blame them one bit.
If the SR22 runs as well as the reviews I have seen, I might just get one. Can never have too many 22lr firearms. Shoot all day and it costs you $20

I purchased a SR22 and I have to say i am very well pleased. I had a S&W for years but it was a little to long for CC. The SR22 is a very straight shooter and compact enough to carry. You will not be displeased when you get one.

P.S when you buy one get someone at the gun store to change out the grip for you this is the only problem I had with the gun. It comes with two grips one thin for smaller hands and a thicker one for average hands.
