Spurlock’s Gun Shop

Rance Spurlock

Before his passing in 2013, Rance Spurlock had been selling firearms since 1978.  Over the years his store, Spurlock’s Gun Shop, has bounced around the Vegas area a bit before settling down at the current Henderson, NV location.  Rance purchased this 2600 square foot building and property a few years ago and the business no intention of ever moving shop again.

Most Las Vegas area gun stores are filled with tactical weapons and gear but Spurlock’s place is different.  Although they do carry a few “Black Rifles”, the store is really more focused on hunting than anything else.  They stock a pretty good selection of hunting rifles and shotguns plus multiple display cabinets representing all the major handgun manufacturers as well as a few harder to find specialty handguns and rifles.

Of all the shops I have visited so far, Spurlock’s has the largest selection of reloading equipment and accessories.  You can find everything you need from Primers and bullets to powder and instructional reloading books.

I went to Spurlocks today, just checking out the store and seeing what they had. As soon as I walked in I was Kindly Greeted! The guys working there were very helpful and very informative. At this store I had a great experience!

Me and my Brother went here 2 weeks ago to buy Powder and Primers. As we walked in there was no Greeting everyone just kinda stared at us walking around the establishment.I noticed the Owner was in his office on the phone so I cant say much for him. What I can say is his Employee a Short Portly Hispanic Guy ruined both our expeirence. He was at the cash register and for some reason very confrontational. My brother who comes off very friendly was totally ignored by the Portly Employee when asked to see a Used Ruger Alaskan 454 Casull.Being ignored didnt sit right with him so he proceeded to walk out and asked if i was coming. We both left with my un purchased items on the counter. This is a perfect example of an owner who lets his employees ruin his establishments name because of there poor atitude. My brother is the easiest guy to get along with which is what pisses me off even more!Unfortunatley we will not go there again and will not reccommend this establishment to anyone. Its a shame too cause we would have done buisness with you Mr Spurlock. Not gonna tell you how to run your buisness. You can take this comment for what it is.I will say that the employee had one of the worst atitudes I have come across especially in a retail environment.Make the Correction and GoodLuck with your buisness

Stopped by the shop this morning, and was pleasantly surprised with the selection. Everyone was busy with customers, but I was still acknowledged as I came through the door. I didn’t find was I was looking for, but will keep this shop in mind if I need something.

Nice to see a store that really markets the handgun instead of all the tact weapons you see eveywhere. Not bashing long tacts, luv them too, but I luv HGs a little more. Visit Rance’s store for a candy shop exp.

First of all, I’m VERY sorry to hear of the passing of Rance last year. Rance was a great man and always treated me and my son well.

My son and I have bought all of our guns from Spurlock’s since we moved to southern Nevada 17 years ago. I’ve had many a great conversation with Rance about competitive shooting, and I loved sharing my (always good) results with the guns that I’ve bought from him. Spurlock’s has allowed us to buy some very fine rifles and pistols and very reasonable prices.

As far as customer service, NO OTHER gun store has treated us as fairly as Rance and his staff. I already miss him. He was my go-to guy when it came to guns.

Today, I found out that Rance had passed away back in 2013. I wanted to offer my condolences to his family. We lost one hell of a good guy with his passing. Rance, and his crew always made you feel at home, and he’d answer all your questions without making you feel like a dummy. Questions I’m sure he had heard hundreds of times over the years.
Spurlock’s always has a great selection of weapons, and they’re reasonably priced as well, so if you’re looking for a good deal, then Spurlock’s should be on your list of places to shop.

I first met Rance, as best I can recall, in the mid-70s, when he was a teenager working at Accuracy gun shop and associated and traded guns with him for decades. His passing was a shock, way too early, and he’s missed. His shop was always a class place. I’m in town for a few days and will probably stop by…….

Spurlock’s is now under new ownership and offers many more black rifles and tactical handguns. Still a good selection of hunter rifles too. Great all around store!
